With Key Arguments Scheduled in CA, NY, and MA, We The Patriots Leads the Way in Fighting for Religious Liberty

If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you know that we are anything but a one-trick pony. Our strategy has always been to diversify, fighting as many battles on as many fronts as possible, to protect the rights of the most Americans possible. And this spring, that strategy has put us front and center in the battle to win back religious liberty for millions of Americans from coast to coast. Here’s a statement from Cameron Atkinson, WTP USA Senior Counsel for Special Litigation:

Thanks to We The Patriots USA, we have one of the most important religious liberty schedules in the country for April and May. On April 17, we will argue for California school religious exemptions in the Ninth Circuit. On April 22, we will argue for Connecticut school religious exemptions in the Second Circuit. On May 4, we will begin a three-week trial in Boston for Title VII religious exemptions [in the workplace].

The April 17, 2026 oral argument at the Ninth Circuit involves the case of a Ventura, California high school student who was expelled from school for asserting a religious exemption to vaccinations, with the county prosecutor later pursing charges of truancy against his parents. The April 22, 2026 oral argument at the Second Circuit will address whether the State of Connecticut violated the First Amendment when it attempted to shut down a Milford, Connecticut Christian daycare and preschool for allowing religious exemptions to vaccinations for its students. And the May trial in Boston will examine whether Takeda Pharmaceuticals violated federal law when it fired its employees after denying their religious exemptions to the covid shot.

Three states, two coasts, and the religious liberty of millions at stake, both in school and in the workplace. And it was all made possible with your support. Please continue to follow us here and on our socials to stay up to date on all the latest developments in these cases, and please consider a gift to support our ongoing legal efforts.

And if you live in the Northeast, we’d love your support in the courtroom, too! You can attend the oral argument in our Milford Christian Church lawsuit at 10:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in Courtroom 1703 of the Thurgood Marshall US Courthouse, 40 Foley Square, New York, NY. We are hoping for a large public presence to show support for the families of Milford Christian, and their fight for religious liberty.
