Idaho GOP Chairwoman Dorothy Moon represented District 8, the largest in the State of Idaho before redistricting, for three terms. She served on the House Education, Resources and Agriculture Committees.

Dorothy has a Bachelor of Science in secondary education in comprehensive science and Master of Science in resource planning, both from Missouri State University; she retired from Challis High School (2012) as special education director and science teacher; President of Moon & Associates Inc., an engineering and land surveying business since 1994; owner in gold mining operations in central Idaho; and voted 2018 Outstanding Republican Legislator by Idaho GOP. She has been married to her husband Darr for 31 years; and has two adult sons.

Dorothy ran for Idaho GOP chair this past summer, at the urging of many, and won the position of Chair of the Idaho Republican Party by a large majority against former Chairman Tom Luna.
