Tyrannical government overreach has consequences, and so do the lawsuits we file to fight back against it. In its reply brief to our lawsuit on behalf of Milford Christian Church and Little Eagles preschool and daycare, the State of Connecticut Attorney General’s Office has made a shocking admission: neither the Department of Public Health (DPH), nor the State Department of Education (SDE) has any enforcement authority with regard to vaccination requirements in “nonpublic” (i.e. private) schools.
Read the State’s reply brief here, especially pages 7-9.
Read the coverage of our lawsuit in The Hartford Courant here (not surprisingly, the Courant failed to mention that We The Patriots USA fully funded this lawsuit and retained Attorney Atkinson to represent the plaintiffs). The Courant article reports: “In its June 13 reply, the state argued the suit should be dismissed because ‘… Defendants (Charlene) Russell-Tucker (education commissioner) and (Manisha) Juthani (public health commissioner) lack any legal authority for enforcing … the statute at the heart of Plaintiffs’ claims and requests for relief.’”
This has huge implications for private schools in Connecticut, and the state never would have made this admission were it not for us filing this lawsuit.
And please don’t forget that we also have two other lawsuits in the State of Connecticut aiming to reclaim the religious exemption for all children in the state, whether in public or private schools. Our federal lawsuit has been argued before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and is currently awaiting a decision. Please support our work by making a one-time or monthly donation today. We rely exclusively on public donations for funding, so every penny counts!
