Health Status should be a Protected Class Under Federal Law….
As it currently stands, employers can get away with treating “unvaccinated” employees less favorably than “vaccinated” employees. And in four states (CA, NY, CT, and ME), kids can be denied an education for not having all of their “required immunizations.”
Is this discrimination? YES! Is this illegal? Sadly, the answer is NO.
Whether in the workplace or in school, Americans from coast to coast are being treated differently because they have declined one or more vaccines on the basis of their sincerely-held religious beliefs. This needs to stop, and it needs to stop NOW.
PETITION TO ADD HEALTH STATUS AS A PROTECTED CLASS UNDER FEDERAL LAW
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which forbids discrimination in employment, only prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (now also interpreted to include sexual orientation and transgender status), and national origin. As you can see, nowhere is discrimination based on health status or vaccination status listed as a protected class. This means that under the law as it currently stands, employers can get away with treating “unvaccinated” employees less favorably than “vaccinated” employees.
THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE! That is why We The Patriots USA, Inc. is leading the charge to add health status as a protected class in Title II (which prohibits discrimination in places of public accommodation) and Title VII (which prohibits discrimination in the workplace) of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. With this amendment, employers, retail establishments, restaurants, public schools and colleges, and more would never be able to discriminate against a person who has refused a shot, a medical test, or any other medical intervention. “We, the undersigned, hereby formally request that our elected representatives in Congress amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 so as to add health status, including vaccination status, as an enumerated protected class in all Sections of the Act. The purpose of this amendment will be to make it illegal for any individual or entity, whether public or private, to discriminate against a person on the basis of such person’s health decisions, including decisions regarding vaccinations or medical testing.”
This petition will be delivered to every member of Congress as soon as we receive at least 100,000 signatures!
