MINNEAPOLIS (APRIL 25, 2025) – Just this Monday, we shared with you the news that Massachusetts had proposed legislation to eliminate the religious exemption to required school vaccinations in the state. Today, we are saddened to announce that Minnesota has joined the ever-growing list of states trying to usurp parental rights and the health freedom of its citizens. House File (Bill) 3239 would eliminate the religious exemption to the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) shot effective August 1, 2026. For those who may be unaware, all three vaccinations are given as a combined shot, with two doses recommended by the CDC. A single-dose shot is no longer available for any of the three vaccinations within the MMR, but an MMRV shot is offered as an additional option, which adds a dose of the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine.

We have been saying for a while now that state legislatures and Governors in “blue” states would be pushing back against the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) agenda led by President Trump and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., by eliminating religious exemptions. And sadly, we were right.

They are coming for our children.

But if this bill becomes law, they’ll be seeing us in court.

If you are a parent in Minnesota who uses a religious exemption and would like to be considered as a plaintiff for our litigation, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We plan to file litigation opposing this legislation swiftly upon its passage, if indeed it is signed into law.

Even if you don’t meet the criteria to be a plaintiff, please consider supporting our legal efforts to restore religious exemptions for all children by making a tax-deductible gift to our mission today.
