On Friday, April 17, 2026, counsel for We The Patriots USA will appear before the Ninth Circuit in Pasadena, California, to argue that California’s denial of religious exemptions for school vaccinations is unconstitutional. As you may know, California is widely considered “ground zero” in the battle for religious exemptions to vaccinations, being the first state in the nation to abolish its personal belief exemption in 2015. We brought this lawsuit last year on behalf of a high school honors student who was expelled from school for asserting a religious exemption to vaccinations, with his parents later being charged with truancy for not sending him to school!
While we were able to get the truancy charges dropped, the battle for this family’s religious liberty marches on this Friday in Pasadena. If we prevail at the Ninth Circuit, all families in California who assert a religious objection to any vaccination would once again be able to send their children to school. And if the Ninth Circuit rules against us, we fully intend to take this battle to the U.S. Supreme Court in search of a ruling that would allow all students in every state to attend school with a religious exemption.
This case is just one of the several religious exemption lawsuits we have filed since 2021. We have another pivotal hearing before the Second Circuit coming up next week on April 22, 2026, in a religious exemption lawsuit we filed on behalf of a Christian daycare and preschool. Our aggressive litigation strategy to win back religious liberty is only made possible through your generous support. Please consider a gift today to help us continue the fight!
