AUGUST 13, 2025 – About 2,920 miles separate Milford, Connecticut and Ventura, California. But they have something very important in common today: families in both places have won a victory in their quest for religious freedom, thanks to We The Patriots USA!
Let’s start with Milford, Connecticut. Just yesterday, we announced that we were appealing our lawsuit on behalf of Milford Christian Church to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. We are happy to report that, through the efforts of our legal counsel, the State of Connecticut has agreed that it will refrain from closing Milford Christian’s Little Eagles daycare and preschool, at least through our appeal to the Second Circuit. This allows families at Little Eagles to continue sending their children to the school, while continuing to utilize religious exemptions to vaccinations in a state that abolished those exemptions in 2021.
Meanwhile in Ventura, California, where we filed a lawsuit on behalf of a student who was expelled from school for asserting a religious exemption to vaccinations, and his parents who were charged with truancy as a result, the Ventura County District Attorney has dropped the truancy charges against the student’s parents! We are confident that this decision was motivated in large part by our lawsuit, which named the District Attorney as a defendant. Those parents can breathe a little easier today knowing that they will no longer face criminal prosecution just for honoring their religious convictions.
